This brooch is a sculptural piece comprising various metallic elements assembled to create a form reminiscent of an insect. The composition features layered metal plates with varied textures and finishes — some appear aged with a patina, while others are smoother with silvery tones. A key focal point is a reflective, iridescent central piece that contrasts with the matte and textured metals surrounding it. The use of rivets not only serves a functional purpose but also enhances the industrial aesthetic. The piece is mounted on a dark mokume base providing a striking contrast and grounding the organic form.

One of a kind unique brooch. Set on a background of Mokume Gane. The materials used are a mother of pearl doublet set in silver with textured silver, copper and brass pieces all oxidized.

The widest part of the brooch 4” from wing tip to wing tip. The tallest part is a little over 2 inches.
